RCPCH Scotland

RCPCH Scotland coordinates the work Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Scottish Officeof the College in Scotland. The main functions are communicating with paediatricians working in Scotland, providing administrative support to the Scottish Committee and arranging Scottish Paediatirc meetings.

In addition, the office provides the Scottish Government with up-to-date RCPCH guidance on matters relevant to the health of children in Scotland, as well as expressing the interests of paediatricians across Scotland

National Managed Clinical Network (NMCN) for Children with Exceptional Healthcare Needs (CEN)

As part of the National Development Plan for Children and Young People's Services, Scottish Government funded the development of a network for children with complex and exceptional healthcare needs (CEN) The aim is to improve services for this group who are defined by complexity of care rather than diagnosis. The MCN encourages professionals in health, education, social work and the voluntary sector, and most importantly parents and carers of these children, to be involved in service improvement.

BAPM Annual General and Scientific Meetings 16 & 17 September 2010, Edinburgh

This meeting will be held at the Heriot Watt University Conference Centre, Edinburgh. Professor Phil Steer will give the Founder's lecture and the programme will include sessions on Neonatal Pharmacology, Neonatal Simulation Training, Palliative Care and the implications of the DRIFT trial. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 5pm on 23 July 2010.

The 2010 Annual Scientific Meeting 11 & 12 October, Edinburgh

The Meeting is BACCH's blue ribbon event, and offers all those working in the field of community child health the opportunity to hear from national speakers, share research, learn new skills and network. We regularly attract over 200 delegates, including consultant and career grade paediatricians and those in training. The event is always keenly subscribed and eagerly anticipated.
