National Managed Clinical Network (NMCN) for Children with
Exceptional Healthcare Needs (CEN)
As part of the National Development Plan for Children and Young
People's Services, Scottish Government funded the development of a
network for children with complex and exceptional healthcare needs
(CEN) The aim is to improve services for this group who are defined
by complexity of care rather than diagnosis. The MCN encourages
professionals in health, education, social work and the voluntary
sector, and most importantly parents and carers of these children,
to be involved in service improvement.
