The Gold Guide, a guide to postgraduate specialty training in
the UK, requires all trainees to be registered with their
College as a specialty trainee. We have, previously referred
to this as enrolment but from now on it will be Trainee
Registration and Retention and the fee attached to it will be
referred to as the Trainee Registration and Retention Fee. We
have amended as far as possible all existing references, but in all
cases, any remaining reference to, "enrolment" should be read as
meaning "Trainee Registration and Retention".
-
Applications will not be accepted
earlier than the published opening date.
-
Please note there will be a new
enrolment/trainee registration form for this
round, you must submit a new form. Any old forms will
be returned to you.
-
Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted, so you
are advised to ensure that your application arrives in time.
-
In a change to previous rounds you may be able to enrol if you
are not in a paediatric training post. You must be:
1. In-between posts and intending to return to a training
post shortly
2. Your Educational Supervisor or College Tutor must support your
application by
completing the following
form.
Non training post trainees
This must be submitted with
your enrolment/trainee registration
form.
-
Please note that if you do not know your Educational
Supervisors details at the time of filling out your form, you can
still enrol, and you will still gain access to your ePortfolio and
online assessment (ASSET) accounts. However you will be
limited as to what you can do with these accounts until you are
linked to your Educational Supervisor. Please see the
ePortfolio part of the
website for details regarding how Educational Supervisors can be
linked to a trainees ePortfolio account. For your online assessment
account, contact the
ASSET team when
you have this information.
-
If you wish to enrol/register because you are an IPTS
trainee please note that this is a separate process to UK
enrolment/trainee registration. You will need to contact
the IPTS
department for information regarding
this.
