Locum

A Locum Appointment for Training (LAT) is created when there is a vacancy in a recognised training post.

The entry criteria for a LAT are the same as for an StR appointment; the trainee would be appointed at interview in open competition.

Each LAT will be 3-12 months of training in a PMETB approved training post. (Application forms for prospective approval of SpR training to be undertaken in a LAT may be downloaded from this website (see below)).

Trainees in LAT posts must ensure that they continue to collect evidence of assessment and supervision with the appropriate documentation (similar to those in run through training posts).
