Smoking in cars

I remember the first time my friend’s dad picked us up from primary school.

We got in the car, shyly shuffled across the back seat and as we drove away from the school gates he lit up a cigarette. Even though the front driver’s window was open, I remember this horrible smell creeping up my nose which was then followed by noticeable wafts of smoke blowing back into my face. It felt like I was slowly suffocating.
