Latest position on the Health and Social Care Bill

Since the publication of the Health and Social Care Bill over a year ago, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health has voiced its concerns both publicly and privately to officials and Ministers strongly.

RCPCH Involvement in the Health and Social Care Act

Now that this Bill is an Act of law, our focus as a College is not only on shaping the content of the legislation but also on how it will be implemented by healthcare professionals, local authorities and others.

RCPCH to play pivotal role in ensuring children remain ‘high priority’ in NHS as first ever Children’s Forum launches

A new Children’s Forum that will engage with children, parents, carers, families and health professionals to ensure the needs of children and young people receive high priority within the NHS has been announced today.

The RCPCH has lobbied hard for this since last year.

The Children and Young People's Health Outcomes Forum, co-Chaired by RCPCH Fellow Professor Ian Lewis, and including a number of RCPCH members, is an independent body comprising experts from across the charitable, healthcare and local government sectors.

Facing the Future

'Facing the Future' is a bold programme of work for the College that considers current provision of care for children and young people, and offers possible solutions to service problems.

Small RCPCH Report Launch 102_0.jpg

Professor Terence Stephenson, President of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, launches a challenging new report to ensure the views and experiences of children and young people are at the heart of NHS reforms.

Simulation

The RCPCH is to develop a national strategy on simulation and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) as it has an important role to play in the future delivery and assessment of the national paediatric training curriculum, both at core and specialty levels. This follows the Department of Health publication ‘A Framework for Technology Enhanced Learning’.
