Careers fairs

The College hosts careers events across the year as well as having a presence at other external fairs.

These events are a great opportunity to meet the recruitment and careers team who will be able to advise on how the application process works and get advice from current trainees and consultants about career opportunities open to you.

Paediatric sub-specialty glossary

Positions and variety in paediatrics

Sub-specialtiesThe majority of paediatricians work as general paediatricians in district hospitals looking after babies and children with both short term (acute) and longer term (chronic) illnesses.

Special Interest Modules (SPIN Modules)

These competences have been developed for trainees in general paediatrics who have an interest in a certain area of their work. These do not change the certification of completion of training (CCT) the trainee will receive (i.e. the CCT will still be in General Paediatrics).

Why have these modules been developed?
