Inter-Deanery Transfer (IDT)

Movement of Specialist and Specialty Trainees (SpRs/StRs) between Deaneries and Inter-Deanery Transfers of NTNs/Core Training Numbers 

During your SpR/StR training, it may become necessary to consider the possibility of requesting an Inter-Deanery Transfer (IDT).

Trainees' Committee

The RCPCH Trainee's Committee is your way of interacting with the College. Your trainee representative provides you with a way to raise training issues relevant to your region and bring them to the attention of the College.

 

What we do:

  • The Trainees' Committee works on matters of relevance to trainees and to the College.
     

Out of Programme (OOP)

Out of Programme (OOP) is a term that relates to those trainees that wish to undertake a range of activities that are outside of their planned training programme.

There are a range of circumstances as to why individuals may want to undertake an OOP; to gain training or clinical experience, to undertake research or to take a career break. These distinct OOP pathways are referred to as:

At Level 3 of training (ST6-8/SpR years 3-5) trainees have the opportunity to sub-specialise in a specific area of paediatrics.
