Testimonials

'I would rate this course as being right up there as the most useful and thought provoking learning I have experienced in the last five years.' (Dr Bob Klaber, RCPCH Officer for Education)

'The day made me think about what parents need, rather than what I thought they wanted, and that these are actually two different things… Listening to the parent speaker helped a great deal. I learnt to have more understanding and am now very confident in responding to a parent’s wishes.' (ST5, Barnet Hospital)

'This course helped me to reassess and rethink about my style of communication. I was in a very difficult situation about four months ago and using methods learned on course worked well and helped the situation a great deal. The parent talk was fantastic and very interesting.' (ST8, Institute of Child Health)

'I now feel very confident in my role when I have to deal with bereavement and supporting families. I have a clear understanding of the death process which makes me feel extremely confident communicating with families and supporting them 100%.' (ST5, Ealing Hospital)

'I found the role-playing was extremely useful. Learning what phrases are and are not helpful was useful and I now use these phrases in my current role.' (ST6, St Mary’s Hospital)
