RCPCH clinical guidelines and standards in development

The College produces evidence based guidelines and products which set standards for paediatric care and practice.

All guidelines produced by the College are in accordance with the Setting Standards for Development of Clinical Guidelines in Paediatrics and Child Health (PDF, 8335KB, 49 Pages). 

Current guidelines in development

Stroke in Childhood

A project to develop clinical guidelines for the diagnosis, management and rehabilitation on Stroke in childhood.

The RCPCH has recently been granted funding by the Stroke Association to develop evidence based guidelines for the diagnosis, management and rehabilitation on Stroke in childhood (based partly on the 2004 RCP guidelines (PDF, 721KB, 82 Pages)).

To accompany the clinical guideline, a parent/carer version of the guideline will be made available along with a key recommendations document.

Both the clinical guideline and parent/carer guideline are due to launch at RCPCH Conference on Wednesday 24 May 2017, where a conference session at 1:10-1:55pm will be held to promote the guideline.

Once launched, the full clinical guideline and accompanying parent/carer guideline will be available for download.
