Senior Fellows and Members

The RCPCH presently has over 800 senior members. These are retired Members, Fellows and Honorary Fellows.

Numbers are increasing as many retire young, and the College believes that senior members represent a valuable, and at present under-utilised resource.

Representative of Senior Fellows and Members and Honorary Fellows

The Representative of Senior Fellows and Members and Honorary Fellows on Council is Professor Andrew Wilkinson. Professor Wilkinson served on Council as Secretary and Chair of the Academic Board and so has experience of organising meetings. He was a CSAC Training Advisor and member of the Training committee as chair of the Academic Regional Advisers. In 2010 he was elected to Honorary Fellowship and in 2011 was awarded the James Spence medal. He is Trustee of Helen House children’s hospice and the John Radcliffe Hospital’s Charitable Trust funds.

 RCPCH Annual Conference

A session is held for Senior Fellows and Members at the Annual Conference each year. Attendance for the day is free. It includes a reception and buffet lunch and is followed by a session run by the History group. In recent years we have had excellent presentations from Martin Bax and Lewis Rosenbloom, Robert Boyd, and Harvey Marcovich.
