Joint College SAS Doctors Conference

Venue: Royal College of Physicians

Location: London

Following a highly successful inaugural meeting in January 2010 at the Royal College of Surgeons, the next Joint College Conference for SAS doctors will be hosted by the Royal College of Physicians.  This will be organised again in association with 8 Colleges.

This one-day conference will allow leading experts in medical leadership and education to give practical advice, ideas and inspiration for SSASG career development. Topics will be introduced by SAS doctors who have expanded their roles.

SSASG Survey 2011

The SSASG Committee is working closely with Senior College Officers to explore ways in which RCPCH might have greater involvement in supporting Paediatric SSASGs in their career development and choices. RCPCH views SSASGs as being a highly valued part of the paediatric workforce.

We want to hear what SSASG Paediatricians think about their careers and what support RCPCH can offer. We would like to invite all SSASG Paediatricians - College Members and Non-Members - to please take a few moments to complete the short survey below.

SSASG Update Meeting

RCPCH Annual Conference, Glasgow, 22 May 2012

We will be holding our Annual SSASG Update Meeting on Tuesday 22 May 2012, 12.30 - 13.30.

The SSASG Committee will present on what is happening at College for SSASG Paediatricians. We also plan to have an Open Forum and would like to hear what topics you would like to discuss further. Please email our SSASG Committee Administrator with your discussion ideas.

 

RCPCH Membership for SSASGs

If you are currently an Associate Specialist or Senior Clinical Medical Officer in paediatrics resident in the UK you can now apply for an Election to Ordinary Membership of RCPCH.

We currently have a number of SSASG Regional Representative posts to be filled for the following regions:

Mersey, North, North East and East Scotland, North East Thames, North West Thames, Northern, North Western, Oxford, South Western, Wessex, West Midlands

Gaining access to the GMC UK Specialist Register via CESR

Please note that from 1 April 2010, the General Medical Council (GMC) merged with the Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board (PMETB).

Paediatricians wanting advice on how to gain entry to the GMC Specialist Register via the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) route should refer to  the RCPCH CESR web page.  Further advice on CESR can then be obtained from the RCPCH CESR Administrator.
