Specialist Question Writing Group

Members who are interested in attending the SQG meeting have to fill in an application and submit one sample question.

MRCPCH Foundation of Practice (FOP) & Theory and Science (TAS) question writing

The questions in the FOP examination are those conditions that are likely to be seen in six to twelve months of hospital, community or primary care practice. FOP also forms the written element of the DCH membership examination. The emphasis of the TAS examination is to test the basic scientific, physiological and pharmacological principles upon which clinical practice is based. MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) question writing

Questions in the AKP Papers 1 and 2 are to test judgment and experience. Each paper contains case history, data interpretation and photographic questions.

Communication and video scenarios

Communication scenario questions test communication with colleagues dealing with professional errors and giving information.

Video scenarios assess skills in dealing with acute cases that cannot be brought in to test.
