Specialty Training (ST)

The majority of ST posts in paediatrics are recruited to via an annual recruitment round, coordinated by RCPCH. This round seeks to recruit trainees to levels ST1-4.

NTN Grid

The NTN grid is a scheme that allows trainees at Level 3 of their training (ST6-8/SpR years 3-5) to have the opportunity to sub-specialise in a specific area of paediatrics. Those who complete an approved programme of sub-specialist training will be eligible to enter on to the GMC's Specialist Register as a paediatrician (sub-specialist).

Medical Training Initiative (Paediatrics)

MTI(P) is a sponsorship scheme has been developed to provide doctors who live and work outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) an opportunity to undertake further training in paediatrics within the UK. Further information on MTI(P).
