Paediatric Case Based Discussion (ePaedCbD)
ePaedCbD is a workplace based assesment tool for paediatric run-through trainees that has been designed to assess clinical reasoning and decision-making.
How many ePaedCbD assessments do you need to complete?
Depending on your level you will need to complete :
- 4 CbDs per training year for Level 1
- 8 CbDs per training year for Level 2
- 6 CbDs per training year for Level 3

You should ask a consultant to assess your CbD. However if you are an St1–3 trainee, while you are advised to have your CbD assessments completed by a Consultant, in cases where this is not possible SASGs, Senior SpRs and St7–8 trainees are acceptable as assessors.
Your CbD will need to be completed online, using the Assessment Services for Education and Training resource (ASSET) www.asset.rcpch.ac.uk
