Joint Neonatal and Paediatric Respiratory Education Forum

Wednesday 2 May 2012 (2pm), Small Lecture Theatre, Dental School, University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff

There will be presentations from units across South Wales, including:

  • Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndroms
  • Late presentation of hydrops

Cranial Ultrasound in Neonates: The Basics

Friday 8 June 2012, Room 0.15, Cochrane Building, University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff

Topics include:

  • Principles of ultrasound and Doppler
  • Normal cranial ultrasound and scan in neonates: standard and supplementary views
  • Demonstration of scanners
  • Intraventricular haemorrhage, post haemorrhagic ventricular dilation and ischaemic lesions of the brain
  • Congenital anomalies
  • Encephalopathy and seizures
  • The place of ultrasound, MRI and CT scan

The course fee is £140.  This includes course materials, buffet lunch, tea and coffee. Please register before 15 May 2012.
