Award overview

Sport Aiding Medical Research for Kids (SPARKS) funds the annual award for excellence in research. SPARKS give the award once a year to an outstanding young medical research worker in British paediatrics. 

The award comprises:

  • a medal
  • £500 for the medalist
  • £500 to the department  to buy equipment and cover other expenses   

Application process

  • heads of departments submit the applicants names and research in  paediatrics
  • The Academic Board’s adjudicating panel reviews the nominations
  • We present the winner at the RCPCH Annual Conference
  • The College pays all costs including travel expenses

  • Download and complete the Nomination Form
  • Send all nomination forms to:
