International strategy

Our international strategy is focused on working with partners overseas to improve the health and well being of all children.

Our goal is to further the College's mission 'to transform child health through knowledge, innovation and expertise'.  We will achieve this through the College's values of authority, modernity, influence and professionalism, together with those of respect and equity.

Respect: We work in partnership with paediatric associations and colleagues overseas.

Equity: We seek to maximise access to our programmes, especially for those in low-income countries.

The College has an important role to play as an advocate for children's rights, and such an approach will be central to our overseas work.

Strategic Goals for 2010-2015

  • improve the governance and accountability of our international work to ensure that it is adequately resourced and as effective as possible
  • improve support to our members as they undertake international work
  • improve the health and well being of all children by working with, and learning from, partners overseas
  • increase the College's global reach and influence.

The RCPCH is keen to increase its contribution to improving the health of the world's children, especially those living in developing countries.  We welcome the engagement of all our members in this effort.
