The creation of a new office in Belfast means that for the first time in the College’s history it now has a staff presence in Northern Ireland.
As the External Affairs Manager, John McBride will be responsible for not only ensuring the work of the Ireland Committee under its Chair, Dr Emma Curtis, is carried forward but that we engage on the key health policy issues that impact on children. This will undoubtedly mean lobbying Ministers and other influential figures but also that we can deliver localised training and events for our members in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Launch of RCPCH Northern Ireland office
We held an official opening of the office on 16 July 2014.
The theme of the launch event was: ‘Fit for the Future: Opportunities and Challenges for Child Health in Northern Ireland’.
RCPCH members will be able to read about the event in the autumn edition of Focus.
