We set standards in paediatric education and training through the development and quality assurance of curricula, examinations and assessments.
We are an experienced team of professionals with a wealth of skills and backgrounds, who are passionate about driving quality improvements in paediatric education and training.
- The core team develops and manages the postgraduate paediatric and SPIN (special interest) curricula, supports the College Tutors, works with Deaneries/LETBs to ensure quality in education and training, and ensures adherence to GMC standards.
- The question board sub-team develops theory questions and exams for the MRCPCH (membership exam), and scenarios for RCPCHStart (assessment). We also organise the Examination, Assessment and Recruitment Boards.
- The psychometric sub-team undertakes standard setting and analysis for the exams and assessments, as well as carrying out and publishing wide-ranging research supporting the work of the Education and Training division.
