This course will allow you to become more familiar with the MRCPCH clinical exam assessment criteria. You will gain a greater understanding of the key skills required and the pitfalls to avoid. Rather than a mock exam we will focus on exam techniques and prepare you for the various stations of your exam. Necessary support has been identified in the following stations and areas:

  • Communication
  • History taking
  • Clinical
  • Child Development
  • Video
  • Presentation skills

The teaching faculty comprises of highly experienced senior MRCPCH Clinical examiners. This elite team will help you to have a better grasp of the assessment criteria as well identify and articulate the skills needed to succeed at each station.

The two days will be interactive with workshops, small group work, discussions and role play involving professional role players. This course will facilitate a safe learning environment encouraging you to ask questions and share good practice. You will not be taught exam content or tested on your knowledge. You will be taught the skills necessary to pass each station. This course is recommended at any stage of your preparation for this examination

By the end of each course, delegates will:

  • Be fully aware of the exam format and what to expect in their assessment on the various stations
  • Develop a clear understanding and familiarity of the assessment criteria and its application in the exam
  • Have a clearer understanding of what is required to pass each station through knowledge of the assessment criteria
  • Understand the evidence-based pitfalls and how to avoid them.
  • Reflect on the content, knowledge and revision needed to ensure success.
