About this webinar
Neuromuscular conditions are rare and can often be highly complex. In some cases, owing to a heightened risk of health complications, the conditions can put people at an increased risk of requiring emergency care. It is vital emergency services are aware of them. When ambulance services do not have this information, the person they are treating is at risk of receiving unsafe and dangerous care. Many people often find themselves in situations where the health professionals treating them don’t have the knowledge required to provide the right care.
As part of our commitment to improve care for people with neuromuscular conditions, Muscular Dystrophy UK is hosting a webinar to upskill professionals working in acute and emergency settings in their understanding of neuromuscular conditions. This webinar will feature the care in children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy, managing chest clearance during admissions, and the importance of your role in delivering care for children with neuromuscular conditions.
