Neonatal cardiology including POCUS - online course

This is a Basic Plus remote-delivered course that will benefit neonatal consultants & trainees, paediatricians with neonatal interest and critical care doctors and advanced nurse practitioners, and researchers who have commenced or intend to commence performing echocardiograms on neonates. The course aims to deliver remotely the essential theoretical knowledge and helpful tips to imaging in neonatal practice.

Learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • Familiarise with the relevant neonatal cardiac morphology
  • Learn the science behind different echo windows and views
  • Achieve an understanding of functional echo assessment in sick neonates
  • Understand the echo imaging of critical neonatal heart defects
  • Learn about the echo assessment of PDA and PPHN 
  • Develop an understanding and knowledge around use of POCUS in emergencies
