Point of Care Ultrasound – lung & lines, heart & brain (Hands on) - course

This Course will benefit Paediatric and Neonatal consultants & trainees, and advanced nurse practitioners, and researchers in the diagnostic use of ultrasound as per POCUS guidance. The course aims to deliver the essential theoretical knowledge and practical experience with helpful tips relevant to POCUS.

Learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • be introduced to the use of bedside ultrasound
  • develop understanding and knowledge around use of POCUS in emergencies
  • understand the principles of POCUS use with lines, lungs, brain, and heart
  • have hands on exposure to US lungs, brain, and heart
  • get a feel of locating veins using ultrasound
  • familiarise functional echo assessment in sick neonates
  • revise the normal and abnormal echocardiographic images.
