How you can support the College

The RCPCH is a registered charity with a mission to transform child health through knowledge, innovation and expertise. Find out how to support the College's aims of improving child health across the UK and beyond.

Why contribute?

The RCPCH is a registered charity with a mission to transform child health through knowledge, innovation and expertise. We are independent of the Government, allowing us to set and maintain the highest possible professional practice standards. We advocate on public health issues and are a voice for infants, children and young people. The College also promotes and supports excellence in child health research in the UK and abroad.

We use all our charitable support to enhance the College’s programmes, always with the aim of improving child health, both nationally and internationally.

A welcome from the President

Welcome to the RCPCH’S fundraising page. If you are considering making a gift, leaving a legacy or participating in a fundraising activity in support of the College, I hope you will find the information contained in these pages helpful. The College is the standard bearer for paediatrics both here in the UK and overseas. We can only fully realise our objectives with the fundraising support of our members and like-minded individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations.

Gifts may be directed to an area of College that matters to you most, usually within one of a number of distinct areas: enhancing research capacity, working to give children and young people a voice, our Global programmes or supporting one of the College’s other fundraising activities.

On behalf of the College I warmly welcome and encourage your participation at any level.

With your support, the RCPCH is campaigning to improve health and wellbeing for all children and young people.

Children’s Research Fellowship Fund

Research is essential to advancing the science of paediatrics and improving the health and wellbeing of children. In the UK, public sector and industry funding for child health research is limited. Alongside a shortage of funding, there is a shortage of people too. There are a worryingly few paediatric academics and we are seeing an increasing decline in those who can carry out research themselves and train future researchers.

Therefore, we have established a Children's Research Fellowship Fund to support a global increase in clinical and non-clinical research training posts and increase academic capacity in paediatric research. In turn, these will identify and nurture future children's research leaders.

We believe in giving children and young people the best start in life through access to the best healthcare possible. We believe in transforming child health by working with children, young people and families - actively listening to their voice and giving them choices as to how to engage.

Regular or payroll giving

Payroll giving is quick and easy to set-up and helps to raise millions of pounds a year for charities all over the UK.

Payroll giving is a simple and tax-efficient scheme which allows you to make a regular donation to the College directly from your salary. The donation comes out of your pay before you are taxed, so effectively your donation costs you less. For example, each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p, and if you're a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p.

Donation amount Cost to standard rate tax payer Cost to higher rate tax payer
£25 £20 £15
£50 £40 £30
£100 £80 £60

Ask your employer if they are enrolled in the Payroll Giving scheme. If they are, choose the regular/monthly amount you would like to donate to the College and your employer will take it from there. If not you might consider a Standing Order (see form in the downloads section below).
