Certificate of Eligibility to the Specialist Registrar (CESR) Committee Assessors - volunteering opportunities

We are recruiting two assessors who will conduct and oversee the assessment of CESR applications in paediatrics and paediatric sub-specialties.

The responsibilities of a CESR Assessor are to:

  • Assess all evidence of CESR applications in paediatrics (or generic, non-clinical evidence in non-CCT CESRs in paediatric sub-specialties) under Article 14 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003.
  • Advise the CESR Committee Chair, through the RCPCH Training Services team, of recommended outcomes for CESR applications
  • Undertake initial CESR training on selection to the role before commencing duties. Training may be conducted online or in person. Attendance at other CESR events to refresh training is strongly encouraged.
  • Advise on and raise issues over equivalence to training for doctors seeking Specialist Registration.
