Epilepsy12 Round 2 - National Report launch event

The RCPCH hosted an evening event in London on Wednesday 26 November to launch the National Report of Round 2 of Epilepsy12. The event was chaired by Dr Fiona Campbell, RCPCH Officer for Clinical Standards, and brought together key people in the epilepsies and child health field, plus views from patients and their families.

At the launch Mr Alex Mooney, a 17 year old patient with epilepsy, shared his experiences. Alex gave a great insight into some of the hidden issues that a young person has to deal with, the ways that services have helped him and in particular the input that he has received from his new Epilepsy Specialist Nurse, Neil.  A film of Alex’s presentation at the launch can be seen below.

Attendees also saw a short film featuring Eleanor and her mum Claire.  Eleanor aged 7, and her mum Claire, talked about her epilepsy and gave an interesting perspective on the care received and the benefits of now having an Epilepsy Specialist Nurse to support them. Their film can be seen below.
