The Regional Lead is the ambassador and advocate for each RCPCH region in the UK. Through an Area Officer, they represent members in Council and other meetings, and they liaise with specialty training bodies to help ensure the quality of training. Regional Leads are responsible for approving consultant appointment job descriptions in their regions as part of the AAC process. The Regional Lead is in this post for three years, with a possible extension for a further two years.
