This annual event highlights developments in Child Protection. Specially developed for a Scottish audience, this one day course will give delegates updates into particular child protection areas and will focus on the implementation of National Child Protection Guidance and the challenges around that.

The Study Day is aimed at trainee and career-grade doctors (both generalists and specialists) who wish to update their knowledge in Child Protection. Topics are all currently debated in the Child Protection field and are picked by the RCPCH Scotland Child Protection Subcommittee as a result of feedback from previous Study Days. It also provides a valued networking opportunity. 

Learning objectives:

  • Be aware of Child Protection developments.
  • Be aware of the challenges around the implementation of the National Child Protection guidelines. 
  • Understand how experienced colleagues respond to referrals.

This event is suitable for Child Protection level 3 competencies. CPD points have been applied for.
