Scottish Paediatric Society Summer Meeting 2021

After the success of the virtual St Andrew’s Day Symposium last November, we'll hold this meeting online. We'll have four guest speakers to keep us up to date in our 'hot topics' session, plus three clinical cases and three research / QI / audit presentations by selected trainees. And for the first time at our Summer Meeting, trainees will have the opportunity to present posters on a virtual platform.

The SPS Executive Committee agreed that SPS will again cover the cost of the meeting. and will thus be free for delegates to attend. 

Submit an abstract

All members are invited to submit abstracts for the following sections of the meeting:

  • Clinical case presentations: The submitted abstract should highlight important or unusual clinical presentations, issues in relation to the diagnostic work up, management or complications. Three cases will be selected for platform presentation. A prize will be given for the best clinical case presentation.
  • Research / audit / QI presentations: Please send abstracts of original research work or audit carried out in any paediatric speciality. Three cases will be selected for platform presentation. A prize will be given for the best research or audit presentation.
  • Poster presentations: Researchers are invited to present their work in a poster format. A maximum of 10 posters will be selected and a prize will be given to the best poster presentation.

Abstract submissions will only be accepted before the closing date of midnight on Friday 9t April 2021. Those chosen to present will be informed shortly after this date.
