Applications open in Exeter, Manchester and Bristol for QI Collaborative in diabetes care

Our National Children and Young People's Diabetes Quality Programme is starting to make impact across NHS paediatric diabetes units in England and Wales. In particular, our pilot QI Collaborative demonstrated the impact of a whole-team managed course in quality improvement. We are now recruiting paediatric diabetes multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) participating in the Programme to the first three regional waves of the QI Collaborative starting in 2019.

This Collaborative supports MDTs to share their processes and develop new models of care to improve outcomes for children and young people and their families.

It helps units implement new ways of working and mechanisms for measurement and review. And, it provides time together to agree shared objectives and plans.

As of October 2018, fourteen new MDTs from all 11 regional networks in England and Wales are now participating in Waves 2 and 3.

We have opened applications for the next three regional waves:

  • Wave 4 - based in Exeter; to start 13 March 2019
  • Wave 5 - based in Manchester; to start 9 May 2019
  • Wave 6 - based in Bristol; to start 10 September 2019

You can download application forms, including full details of how to apply, below.

The deadline for submission of applications is 25 February 2019.
