Once you pass the MRCPCH Clinical examination, we will invite you to apply for Ordinary membership and join us at an upcoming admissions ceremony. New Fellows too, who have successfully applied for fellowship via registration or election, are invited to this ceremony.
New Members and Fellows can reserve their space, and book up to three guests.
My admission ceremony was a really special event for my family. My grandma, dad and my fiance were all able to watch with beaming faces and applaud as I collected my hard-earned certificate. Sometimes, it's hard not being able to share much about what happens at work with family, and missing important family occasions, but this was a way for them to be actively connect with my work as a junior doctor in paediatrics.
The ceremony is presided by senior College Officers who welcome the guests, and then call each new Fellow and Member to be presented with their certificate.
Following the ceremony, we serve afternoon tea with delicious sandwiches, pastries and cakes plus sparkling wine and non-alcoholic beverages. It's a wonderful opportunity to commemorate your achievements, and to network with other Members and Fellows, plus College Officers and staff.
I had the huge pleasure of taking part in the November Membership and Fellowship ceremony in Edinburgh. It was an occasion of undiluted happiness – and that doesn’t happen very often in working life! So many friends and families came along and it was truly an afternoon to remember
We hold three admission ceremonies a year in different locations across the UK. We'll invite you to a ceremony date based on your Ordinary membership or Fellowship start date. Our next ceremony is in London on 14 March - with more throughout the year. If you're eligible and want to attend the London ceremony, make sure you submit your application by 14 December!
