A new offer for foundation doctors

If you're a FY1, FY2 or "F3" doctor, why not take advantage of our new, free membership package? You'll get resources to support to you as you consider a career in paediatrics.

Our new membership offer

Earlier this month the RCPCH Executive team agreed to waive the subscription fee for foundation doctors membership, with effect from September 2018.  As a foundation doctor member you can enjoy a range of benefits.

Foundation doctors are the paediatricians of tomorrow, and I am pleased that the RCPCH is now able to offer membership free of charge. We also know that increasing numbers of young doctors are choosing to wait before applying for specialty training, so I’m delighted that our new policy allows those doctors to continue their membership so that they can receive information and support when applying for paediatrics.

Supporting the “F3" doctor and RCPCH ePortfolio-lite

As well as Foundation Year 1 and FY2 doctors, those who have left the foundation programme and have an interest in paediatrics - or "F3" doctors - may apply for this membership type.

F3 foundation doctor members get a RCPCH ePortfolio-lite account at no additional cost, and for a maximum of one year. This taster version of our ePortfolio (on the Kaizen system) is specifically designed to support F3 doctors thinking of entering specialty training. It introduces the new RCPCH Progress curriculum and the full range of development and skills logs used by trainees.

With ePortfolio-lite, F3 members can:

  • create development logs
  • record skills log
  • set up PDPs (Personal Development Plans)
  • and link all these to level 1 of the RCPCH Progress curriculum.
