Our 2021 research awards are now open

This year we are proud to announce that we have three research awards up for grabs in our 2021 round. Applications are now open until midnight 30 November.

Simon Newell Early Independent Researcher Award

In honour of Dr Simon Newell, the RCPCH, Sparks Charity and GOSH are excited to run this award for another year. We offer this to an outstanding young medically qualified researcher in British paediatrics.

The winner of this prestigious award will receive a trophy, £1,000 for themselves, and a further £1,000 for their department. In addition, the winner receives a day entry pass with expenses covered to the 2021 RCPCH Conference and exhibition.

Donald Paterson Award

This award will be given to the author of the best article on any subject related to paediatrics published or accepted within two years prior to November 2020. The winner will receive £200 and a certificate, in addition to a day entry pass with expenses covered to the 2021 RCPCH Conference and exhibition.

The PIER Prize

The PIER (Paediatric Involvement and Engagement in Research) Prize, run jointly by us and the National Institute for Health Research, recognises excellent patient engagement and significant contributions to the NIHR clinical research network. The winning group of this award (up to four people) will receive a trophy and a day entry pass to the 2021 RCPCH Conference and exhibition.
