Information for people with visual impairments

As we strive to reduce the College’s carbon footprint we will be making several changes to how we deliver our Conference this year. Programmes will all be digital, and accessible via the delegate mobile app and event website. The app this year will be provided by Guidebook, who have specifically optimised their app so that it can be accessed and navigated using the phone’s built-in screen reader functionality.

If for any reason you have trouble accessing the programme on the app on the day, please come to the information desk at registration, and we will be happy to print a hard copy for you.

We will also be using electronic posters this year, as part of our commitment to reduce our waste. ePosters will be available to view on the mobile app, event website and also via a number of touchscreens onsite. If you have any concerns at all in relation to accessing the poster gallery please do get in touch to discuss your requirements in more detail.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are very welcome at the Conference. There’s no need to let us know in advance, just turn up on the day!

If you would prefer to have a quiet space for feeding, a separate space will be available for the duration of the Conference. This can be found in Room 15.

A complimentary creche will be available for the duration of Conference, between the hours of 08:00-18:00 (17:00 on Thursday 30 June).

Pre-registration is essential and places within the creche must be booked via the Conference team no later than Thursday 26 May.

The location of the creche will be shared with parents who have booked closer to the time. For more information please contact conference@rcpch.ac.uk.

Prayer room

A multi-faith prayer room will be open for the duration of the Conference and can be found in Room 16.

Quiet space for neurodiverse delegates

There will be a designated quiet space available for neurodiverse delegates for the duration of the Conference. This can be found in Room 8.

Extra support/Reserved seating

We are happy to arrange reserved seating in all sessions at Conference and can liaise with the venue to provide any additional support moving between sessions and accessing rooms. To arrange this, please either make a note in the accessibility section when you book your place or contact the team at conference@rcpch.ac.uk.

We will be introducing self-check-in registration desks this year, to make the registration process quicker and more efficient. Staff will be on hand to help delegates use the self-check in area, alternatively you can either print your badge at home beforehand or sign in manually with a member of staff at the information desk.

Information for virtual attendees

If you have booked our virtual package, closed captions will be provided on both the livestream and on demand videos.

If you have any other requirements, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Conference team at conference@rcpch.ac.uk. If you would prefer to speak to a member of the team, please call us on 020 7092 0000.

As we continue to strive to make our Conference more accessible, we welcome all feedback to help as we learn and develop this area.
