This position statement aims to clarify the role of paediatricians and provide advice for commissioners in relation to the provision of child protection/safeguarding health services for children aged 16-18 years.
Poor outdoor air quality is a major issue in the UK. Air pollution is linked to a variety of health conditions and contributes to a large number of deaths every year. It is also linked to climate change, which itself poses wide-ranging threats to health and wellbeing.
The killing of children, whatever the diplomatic posturing around conflict, is indefensible and barbaric.
As outlined in the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child, every child has the right to voice, protection, health and education. We urge all states to recognise and realise their obligation to children's access to healthcare.
We agree to work collaboratively with various organisations to use collective resources and influence in supporting the public health workforce to have healthier weight conversations.
