Research funding opportunities

Comic Relief primarily makes grants to create long term change, to help achieve a world where everyone is safe, healthy, educated and empowered. Funding is allocated under four programme areas - investing in children and young people, empowering women and girls, improving health and wellbeing and building stronger communities.

DRWF Research Fellowships are given for research related to causes, cures or complications of diabetes

Allows outstanding medically or clinically qualified professionals, including nurses, pharmacists and members of the Allied Health Professions, who have gained a PhD or equivalent (eg MD (Res)), to establish themselves as independent researchers with a view to a long term career as a clinical research leader in the field of diabetes.

Enables outstanding science graduates to study for a PhD in the field of diabetes research.

Provides support for high quality, diabetes-related research. Applications should normally be for hypothesis-driven projects.

The RD Lawrence Fellowship is a career development fellowship that enables postdoctoral researchers to establish their independence in diabetes research.

Enables graduate healthcare professionals to work towards a PhD or MD in diabetes and develop a career in research.

Provides funding to enable research teams to undertake social sciences research - anything from a standard research project through to a large scale survey or methodological development.

Open to researchers who have already been awarded an ERC grant. This will be additional funding to establish the innovation potential of ideas arising from the ERC-funded research projects.

Offers a large variety of funding opportunities for research and innovation activities through calls for proposals that are set out in the Horizon 2020 work programme.
