Breastfeeding in the UK - position statement
The UK has one of the lowest rates of breastfeeding in Europe. We strongly support national policies, practices and legislation that are conducive to breastfeeding, as well as promotion, advice and support to new mothers. Our messages and recommendations in this statement are specific to the UK.

This report concludes that children would receive better care if they had 24/7 access to a consultant or equivalent senior doctor. This module is recommended in our Facing the Future service standards.
