One in seven babies born in the UK will spend at least a few days in hospital in a neonatal unit which specialises in looking after babies who are born early, with a low weight or who have a medical condition that requires specialised treatment.
This report highlights the key findings and recommendations from the analysis of the data provided by neonatal units on the admissions of babies for neonatal care in England, Scotland and Wales in 2017.
