MRCPCH examination centres in India

The MRCPCH examinations are held in the following cities:

  • Ahmedabad
  • Bangalore
  • Chennai
  • Hyderabad
  • Kolkata
  • Mumbai
  • New Delhi

Please note that due to the low candidate numbers in some India examination centres, we may need to reduce the number of centres at short notice.

This means that, though you will have choice of examination centres during your application, you may be allocated to your second or third choice.

MRCPCH Clinical

Candidate eligibility for Bangladeshi nationals

The College has opened up the MRCPCH Clinical in India exam to all Bangladeshi nationals and those who are currently working in Bangladesh.

The decision was taken due to the increasing number of applications received from this area. India nationals and those currently working in India will receive priority status.


MRCPCH Clinical Training Course and Mock Exam: Hyderabad, India on 1st and 2nd Feb

Diploma of Child Health (DCH) (UK) Clinical  

The DCH (UK) qualification demonstrates competence for doctors dealing with children and young people in their clinical practice.

The next DCH Clinical examination scheduled for India will be held in Nagpur on 17th January 2018

The application period for the DCH Nagpur January 2018 will open on 23rd October 2017.

Foundation of Practice (FOP) exam

DCH candidates can now sit either part of the examination (theory or clinical) in any order. If you have not yet completed your FOP examination and wish to apply to sit the DCH Clinical first please ensure that you have  registered for an RCPCH exam account. Prospective examination candidates must first have a registered RCPCH account before they can apply for any examination.

Should you wish to apply for and sit the FOP exam the next exam to be held in India will take place in October 2017 at test centres across the country, including Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyberabad.

The RCPCH will be conducting a two day training for Diploma in Child Health UK examination at AMRI Hospital, KOLKATA, India on 3rd and 4th September 2016. First day focused at improving your clinical and communication skills and the second day will be a mock examinatWho is the DCH (UK) for?

  • Child health trainees and specialists
  • Emergency medicine
  • Intensive care doctors
  • Anaesthetic doctors
  • Surgical specialties: Paediatric surgery, ENT
  • Psychiatry doctors

  • Knowledge and skills in delivery and management of common medical conditions in children/young people

Standards being measured in the DCH (UK)

  • That of a doctor capable of providing safe and effective healthcare for children with competencies as described in the DCH syllabus
  • The anchor statements for the clinical examination supports the standards expected

Theory and clinical components of the DCH (UK)

The DCH Exam consists of the MRCPCH Foundation of Practice (FOP) theory examination and the DCH Clinical examination.

It is recommended that candidates should have completed a minimum of one year of paediatric training in a recognised training institution before applying.
