Changes have been made to our Child Protection Companion's chapter 9, ''Recognition of physical abuse' to accommodate suggested amendments by the British Paediatric and Adolescent Bone Group on the timing of blood investigations for fractures.

The Versus Arthritis Outstanding Fellows Prize will be awarded in two categories in 2020 – the Versus Arthritis Outstanding Fellows Prize (early career category) and the Versus Arthritis Outstanding Fellows Prize (late career category). Each prize will recognise academic achievements, research outputs and contribution to new knowledge with the potential for significant impact on the quality of life of people with arthritis.

Awarded to outstanding medical, veterinary, nurse and allied health professional or science graduates committed to a research career in any discipline relevant to arthritis and related musculoskeletal diseases.

Funds pioneering research that advances the discovery of new medicines.

Provides funding to enable research active clinical lecturers to pursue their research work, gather preliminary data and so further strengthen their applications for longer term fellowships and funding.

Jointly funded by Versus Arthritis and Cancer Research UK and aims to catalyse new multidisciplinary collaborations across disease areas.

Funds tenured and non-tenured researchers, clinicians and non-clinicians to undertake high quality biomedical research and has no priority diseases or restrictions on the research area supported.

Funds research clinical research to improve understanding of the progression of neuromuscular conditions and their impact on the quality of life of patients and families as well as to establish best practice in symptom management.

Provides funding to encourage and further medical research in a variety of areas. Applications are invited from doctors and research scientists and can be for either research in progress or prospective research.
