Peter Dunn studied at St John’s College, Cambridge, and Birmingham. He served as MO to the 2nd King Edward’s Own Goorhka Rifles in Malaya and then returned to England as a perinatal paediatrician. After working as registrar in Birmingham Maternity Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and in South Warwickshire, he began working in Bristol as a perinatal research fellow, before being appointed Consultant Senior Lecturer in Perinatal/Neonatal Paediatrics. In retirement, he has continued to research as Emeritus Professor and Senior Research Fellow in Perinatal Medicine and Child Health at the University of Bristol, and Honorary Consultant to St Michael’s and Southmead Hospitals.
He wrote extensively and became the first President of the British Association of Perinatal Medicine, as well as being involved in numerous councils and committees, and receiving multiple fellowships and awards.
