Privacy notice - Paediatric AI Resource (pAIr)

At the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) we are committed to protecting your information and privacy. This particular privacy notice is in relation to RCPCH pAIr, or Paediatric AI Resource. This is an AI chatbot that provides cited summaries of RCPCH endorsed guidance.

What information do we collect about you?

Our lawful basis for processing your personal data is:

  • "Legitimate interest” – where we have assessed that the benefits of us processing your data are legitimate and not outweighed by your interests or legal rights.

We will collect username and password for users of pAIr so that we can manage access to the application.

We may use your personal data where necessary to provide technical support or deal with any maintenance issues with the system.

We may also ask for feedback so that we can improve the resource. 

What do we do with your information?

We put security measures in place to ensure that your information is securely stored. We will not share identifiable information outside of RCPCH, unless we need to in order to offer technical assistance. 

Transferring information outside of the UK

To provide some products and services we, or our data processors, may transfer and process information in countries outside of the UK. Some of these countries, such as those in the EEA, will have an officially recognised equivalent level of protection to the UK (adequacy decision). A list of these countries can be found via the ICO website. Where there is no adequacy decision, we will take all reasonable steps necessary to ensure that your information is protected by having in place a recognised safeguard with our partners and suppliers, such as regulatory approved UK International Transfer Agreements, Binding Corporate Rules or Codes of Conduct. Otherwise we will ask for your explicit consent.

If you no longer want to have an account with pAIr, you can contact information.governance@rcpch.ac.uk and we will delete this.
