This annual scheme offers short paediatric and neonatal clinical observation placements to doctors and nurses from low-resource settings within the UK National Health Service (NHS).

The 2026 scheme will run from 10 May to 7 June 2026. It includes attendance at RCPCH Conference in Birmingham, England and a clinical placement at an NHS hospital in the UK.

Completing this application form

Here's what you'll need to complete:

  • Your details - your contact and role details; as relevant, your RCPCH membership number; your current and preferred clinical specialty
  • Existing NHS contact - if you have one. We can organise placements for successful applicants without a contact
  • Supporting statement - of up to 750 words, including examples of your current work, the learning and experience you hope to gain from the visiting fellowship and any benefits to both your home country and and your own professional development
  • References - contact details of two referees
  • CV and other documentation - including digital scans of your passport or ID card, medical qualification, professional registration, police clearance/good conduct, evidence of English language proficiency
