Responding to Lord Mann's review, RCPCH President, Professor Steve Turner, said:

Everyone working in and receiving care from the NHS is entitled to do so in an environment grounded in dignity, fairness and respect, free from racism, prejudice and harassment. Lord Mann’s report into antisemitism and other forms of racism across the NHS provides an important opportunity to renew and strengthen our collective commitment to tackling discrimination in all its forms.

As paediatricians we welcome and support work to drive meaningful change when it comes to tackling racism and discrimination within health services. This is crucial in improving experiences for children and their families, as well as supporting staff wellbeing, and ensuring safe, high-quality care.

RCPCH is committed to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion throughout paediatrics and child health. We will continue to work with partners across the health system to confront racism, reduce inequalities, and ensure that services for children and young people are inclusive, safe and respectful for all.
