Global Links application form

Through our Global Links programme, we recruit, prepare and support doctors, nurses and midwives for long-term placements as volunteer mentors. These placements are in countries where we work, including Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Nepal.

We usually deploy Global Links mentors in August/September and in February/March to align with UK paediatric training patterns. You can apply for this role at any time, and we review applications on a rolling basis. But, we recommend you apply six to 12 months before a potential deployment.

In this application, we'll ask you some questions about why you want to volunteer, any preferences on country and length of placement, and the earliest date you can start. Don't worry if you're not sure of the details! We can discuss the opportunities and your experience in more detail.

Here's what you'll need to complete:

Code of Conduct - outlines the behaviours and values for all members undertaking work for the College
Your details - your contact and role details; as relevant, your RCPCH number and/or your GMC or NMC number
CV / statement - a digital copy of your CV (eg as PDF or Word document) and a short statement about why you'd like to volunteer with Global Links
Other -including any preferences on country and length of placement, earlier earliest date you can go overseas, if you have a DBS certificate
Diversity monitoring - to support the College's commitment to being a more inclusive organisation (this form opens in a new browser window - as you'll need to log in to your RCPCH account, this is only required for RCPCH members
Declarations - that you have read the privacy notice and and agree to the application
