Drawing on two recent research events, Steve reflects on the value of child health research, the challenges it currently faces, and encourages members to take their first steps into research.
Research has taken a bit of a back seat for me over the last couple of years whilst I have been our college President. So, it was an honour to be invited to speak at the event in Sheffield on 16 September, jointly hosted by National Institute for Health and Care Research and Great Ormond Street Charity, and then four days later at the Manchester Health Research Institute Engagement event. It was great to see so much ambition to deliver clinically relevant research to help children and young people.
