Incoming Chair, Dr Josh Hodgson, said:

What an honour to have been appointed! A huge thank you to everyone who voted. The role will be very busy, but what an amazing opportunity to give something back to all of our incredible trainees (and by extension patients and families). On behalf of the Trainees' Committee, a huge thanks to our outgoing chair, Emma Dyer, who has done so much for the community. I can't wait to get stuck-in! Let's see what we can achieve together.

Outgoing Chair, Dr Emma Dyer, said:

I’m delighted to congratulate Josh Hodgson on his election as Chair of the RCPCH Trainee Committee. Josh has been a dedicated member of the Committee for several years, initially as a regional representative and more recently as the ePortfolio and Curriculum rep. His deep understanding of the Committee’s work, combined with his passion for improving training, collaborative and pragmatic leadership style, and infectious positivity, make him exceptionally well-suited to lead the Committee into its next chapter.

It has been a true privilege to serve as Chair and to work alongside such inspiring and committed paediatricians and College staff members. I’m incredibly proud of all that the Committee has accomplished, and I have every confidence that Josh will do a fantastic job as Chair.

RCPCH President, Professor Steve Turner, said:

Most excellent job Emma, and a huge welcome to Josh.
