Accessibility and our website

RCPCH is committed to making our web presence as accessible as possible. We endeavour to make the RCPCH website and its microsites (on the rcpch.ac.uk domain) compliant to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, level A minimum, level AA for the majority of content.

Accessibility features

The RCPCH website and microsites include the following accessibility features:

  • skip to content (rcpch.ac.uk site only, not subdomains)
  • alternative text detail for images.

Our videos on our website and microsite are hosted on a third party platform, typically YouTube. Where feasible, our videos have captions. To view these Subtitles/closed captions when playing the video on the website. You can also click through to watch on the YouTube platform and Open transcript to read the full transcript.

Web standards and technologies

The RCPCH website and microsites have been built to conform to W3C standards for HTML and CSS. These technologies are relied upon throughout the sites.

The site displays correctly in all modern web browsers.

Accessibility exceptions

While the RCPCH website and its microsites strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so.

The RCPCH website connects to a number of legacy College systems, which may have some accessibility issues.

We also use some third party systems - eg to display page turning PDFs - for which we cannot guarantee the level of accessibility.

We endeavour to provide alternative means of accessing content and completing tasks.

Changing your settings
