Child Health Futures - Global child health

We work in low-income countries to help advance the clinical knowledge and skills of doctors, nurses and other health workers in hospitals, implement changes in hospital systems and improve overall quality of care for mothers, newborns and children. Can you support us?
The Rwanda perinatal programme's clinical team

Our Global Child Health team has worked in low-income countries since 2009. We implement sustainable improvements in the availability and quality of child health care, with a focus on strengthening secondary care in district hospitals or their equivalents.

We recruit and prepare doctors, nurses and midwives for placements in hospitals in a low income-countries, where they help improve the clinical knowledge and overall quality of care for mothers, newborns and children. Our main focus is to build system-level support, working across hospitals and health facilities and to provide classroom training and long-term mentorship to health professionals.

We've placed more than 100 clinicians in our programmes across a range of low-resource settings. We currently run programmes in Myanmar, Rwanda and Sierra Leone, including our Global Links Programme and also provide shorter-term technical, programmatic and policy support with a wider global footprint.

We welcome donations from both members and non-members who want to support our work in global child health and other areas. Every bit helps, and we thank you! If you pay income or capital gains tax in the UK you increase the value of your donation to us by 25% through a Gift Aid declaration. It allows us to claim back tax paid on the donation, which we can then put toward the College’s projects.
