We provide concessions on your membership fee and, if applicable, training fee for different reasons, including maternity, shared parental or adoption leave, less than full time working or being a member of another UK Medical College.

You can apply for a concession on this form.

If you had a financial hardship concession in 2025, this will not be rolled over into 2026. You can apply again on this form.

If you had another type of concession in 2025, this will be rolled over into 2026 or until the end date as applicable.

As of 31 December 2026, concessions will not be rolled over into the following subscription year. You can apply again each year as needed.

Retirement concession

This concession offers 40% off membership fees to Ordinary members, Associate members or Fellows (international and UK) who are eligible for retirement as of 1 January 2025 and are still undertaking paid work in medical practice for 1.5 days a week or less (or 3 sessions a week or less).

Senior Members and Senior Fellows are not eligible for this concession. If you are fully retired, please apply for senior membership.

One of the scenarios below might apply to you:

  • you are of retirement age and work 1.5 days a week or less
  • you returned to paid work following retirement and work 1.5 days a week or less
  • you partially retired and continue to work 1.5 days a week or less.

This concession cannot be combined with less than full time, membership of another College or financial hardship concessions. If approved, it will take effect from the day your application was received, and we cannot backdate to when your working pattern started.

Moving outside of the UK concession

This concession is available to Ordinary Members, Associate Members and Fellows who have moved outside of the UK.

You may not combine this with a concession for Membership of another UK medical college or Less than full time working.

Out of programme (OOPC, OOPE, OOPR, OOPT) concession

This concession is only available to paediatric trainees in the UK training programme.

OOPE does not count towards your training unless you are completing an OOPE in anaesthetics for PICM sub-specialty ('grid') training.

What kind of OOP are you doing?
You will be required to maintain your RCPCH ePortfolio throughout your OOPT.
